Charlie & The Chocolate Factory

It's been entirely too long since I've blogged on here...lame. Been pretty busy, but I know that's no excuse. I did score a pretty good find a little while back that I haven't shared yet though.

The Vermillion Civic Council is a very special place with very specials items, like Goodwill's youngest brother who get's all the hand-me-downs that have already been handed down the line a couple times before (I know, I am the youngest of 4 children!!). So of course, I love it :) You never know what you are going to find, and I like to stop in every couple weeks to see if there are any new treasures. At my last visit, I came across this:

A vintage publishing of one of my favorite stories, Charlie & The Chocolate Factory!! I am a little ashamed that I had never actually read the book cover to cover until I bought this edition for 25 cents!! Much of it plays out just as the movie does, but there are some parts that are a little different, and a little more taboo in the comedy, like the Oompa Loompas, who the children thought were made out of dark chocolate, or the fact that Willy Wonka repeatedly calls the children "nasty".
The "dark chocolate" Oompa Loompas
I'm also super excited because this summer the Vermillion Community Theater is presenting the play Charlie & The Chocolate Factory. For showtimes and more information, check out their 2011 Summer Season webpage.

So I apologize for not keeping up with my bloggin', but I promise that there is more on the way! Here's a taste of my 4th of July project...
