First candy bar?

When was the first candy bar invented? In 1847 Joseph Fry came up with what is claimed to be the first chocolate bar, starting this craze that we all have for candy bars today :)

This blog is new & will always be a work in progress. I hope it will grow into something quite delightful where I can share my experiences with other candy lovers. Until then all input is appreciated & check back often for new posts!

Kelso: Since I was a child, I've wanted to spend everyday at the candy store amidst the colorful candies, wonderful smells, and happy children, young and old. I've always been a natural at eating and enjoying candy, the making and history of it, not so much. Someday I will have my own candy store. Until then, I'm going to learn as much about it as I can! I currently live in Vermillion, SD working as an office manager at a dental clinic. Yes, I realize how ironic that is... But like I tell all our patients, "as long as you brush, you can have as much candy as you want! Just don't tell the dentist about it" :)
